This is a list of urban areas in Finland by population, with the 100 largest localities or urban areas in Finland in 2013. The list is based on data from Statistics Finland that defines an urban area as a cluster of buildings with at least 200 inhabitants where the distance between buildings does not exceed 200 metres.^[1]

Pieksämäki is a town and municipality of Finland. Its original name was Haukivuori (lit. "pike mountain", Anglicised as "Pikeburg").^[6]
It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the Southern Savonia region.The town has a population of 19,672 (28 February 2013)^[2] and covers an area of 1,836.39 square kilometres (709.03 sq mi) of which 266.76 km² (103.00 sq mi) is water.^[1] The population density is 12.53 inhabitants per square kilometre (32.5 /sq mi)..
The town of Pieksämäki was formed on January 1, 2007 with the consolidation of the municipalities of Pieksämäki and Pieksänmaa.
Pieksämäki railway station is an important junction for the Finnish railway network.
The Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences' Campus of Forestry is located in Pieksämäki.
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
